About Neato D10
Neato D10 leads with a True HEPA filter capturing up to 99.97 percent of allergens and fine dust particles as small as 0.3 microns. The pleated design permits for greater filtering surface area without sacrificing vacuum suction. In addition, the mesh material makes it easy to clean. They were designed for large homes, ultra-performance for the ultimate clean.
Features of Neato D10
The Neato D10 is the Tesla Cyber Truck among robot vacuums. But unlike the EV, the Neato D10 shows that method goes beyond function. (It is also stored and will not hold your deposits for years). With its D-shaped silhouette designed to clean close to walls and other straight-edged furniture, the Neato D10 is already a unique selling point in a robotic vacuum market saturated on design alone.
However, the cleaning machine is not without its flaws. For one thing, it’s more expensive than many of the best robotic vacuums we’ve tested and, in some cases, self-emptying spring-loaded vacuums. But for the reliability of the Neato D10 when deep cleaning unattended, this might be all you need in a brilliant cleaner.

The Neato D10 is as good as a robot vacuum. The 2,500 Pa suction power is on par with higher-end machinery from Roomba, Roborock, and Shark, and Neato gives you three authority modes to optimize the D10’s performance and battery life. The 6200mAh is one of the largest capacities we’ve tested, and Neato states the robot will precede up to 300 minutes of operation before needing a charge. We will see later if this is so. Add intelligent home pairing via Alexa, Google, or Siri, and you have a recipe for an impressive robot vacuum.
Setup
The Neato D10 comes with all the tools and accessories you need to get started, including a lightweight charging cradle, a brush cleaner, and two additional sets of genuine HEPA filters that promise to capture up to 99.97% of allergens and dust particles.
My device arrived fully charged and ready to use. The only thing gone to do was pair the vacuum to my phone using the MyNeato app, not to be confused with the Neato Robotics app. (The latter applies to older models like Botvac systems.) Pairing with the vacuum requires Bluetooth and entering your local Wi-Fi credentials. Once this is done, however, the Neato D10 can be controlled manually via your phone as long as it is powered on.
Design
Design The Neato D10 stands out from sea of round robot vacuums with its D-shaped form factor. That, along with the brushed aluminum design, gives robot an industrial, futuristic look that, as I mentioned, reminds me of the Tesla. Cyber truck. Despite this, the D10 weighs around 8 pounds and is light enough to carry across rooms, floors, and levels.
The D-shaped design offers two main advantages: cleaning area and container size. With a straighter front, the Neato D10 has a broader brush than traditional vacuums, so it can pick up dust and dirt particles more efficiently. This is particularly true when vacuuming the edges of walls or shelves.
In the center of the robot is a rectangular dustbin with a 700ml capacity. Compared to the 400ml to 600ml sizes of similarly priced vacuum cleaners, the Neato D10 is suitable for cleaning larger rooms and areas. But even for small to medium-sized apartments like mine, the 700ml size means you’ll have to clean the container less often.
The bin size is one thing you shouldn’t take for granted, as the Neato D10 doesn’t come with a self-emptying base station. So, unlike most high-end models with accessories attached, you’ll have to dispose of the D10’s innards manually every time. Fortunately, removing the container’s lid, cleaning the HEPA filter, and putting it back in place is straightforward.
Performance
My experience with the performance of the Neato D10 is very positive. In tests, the robot reliably picked up all the little things I left on the floor, including strands of hair, rice grains, and pieces of cardboard. This is how everything works in practice.
There are some nifty features demonstrated in the video. At first, the D10 recognized the border between my kitchen’s tile and the living room’s hardwood and stayed safe. Even more impressive is that he makes do with little to no space and performs a K-turn to get back on track (as shown in the first half of the video).
Second, the D10 uses shock sensors, which can be heard through clicking noises when the vacuum hits a wall or piece of furniture. Finally, the spring-loaded guard stores and records contact points in the MyNeato app. Allowing the robot to adjust its path for future cleaning sessions.
Finally, the Neato D10 produces an average of 69 dB of sound. It’s not annoyingly loud, especially when you have the vacuum set to Eco mode, but it’s certainly not a device you want to keep around during a Zoom meeting. That’s why I got into the habit of programming the robot. Which you can do on the app, to make breakfast in the morning and shower at night.
Conclusion
The Neato D10 is an unsettling robot vacuum capable of cleaning the deepest nooks and crannies. Unfortunately, at a retail price of $799, it sits in line with the high-end offerings from its closest competitors. As a result, it makes you question whether the cost is the price or the expense of an accommodating auto-empty base. In most cases, though, we’ve established the robot discounted to just $599 (save $50 more with code ‘ZD50’). Which puts it at the top in value for the money.
